TRIAL BY TROLLEY PARTY GAME
Are you familiar with the Trolley Problem? You might know it from the Good Place, you might just know it. But in this game you’ll get to know it VERY personally.
Each round one person will be the conductor. The rest will form two teams – North and South rail. Each team will start with one random innocent card, then they’ll choose a second innocent card to convince the conductor. Next, each team can play a guilty card on the other team’s track.
Your last chance to save your track is with a modifier card – each team will play a modifier on just one of their three cards. Give your paedophile terminal cancer, or reveal that the other team’s innocent 10 year old just murdered the conductor’s family.
Finally, argue it out! Try to convince the conductor that your side of the track ABSOLUTELY must be saved. Whichever track gets the trolley, each team member will receive a death token (uh oh!). After every player has had a turn at conductor (maybe a few turns if it’s a small group) the person with the fewest death tokens wins!
Bring some serious philosophical theory to your next party… But like, in a fun, kind crazy way!
